I owe this nickname to my dad. No, it's not his name. My Dad and I have a great relationship. Around the time that I was in junior high it was about the same time as the "Know what I mean Vern?" guy was on t.v. Do you remember him? I think it's the same actor who did the voice for the slinky dog on the Toy Story movies. Anyway, My Dad and I would be doing things together and I would say to him, "Know what I mean Vern?" However, you never knew what the other guy's name was. So my Dad gave him the name of Leroy. It just stuck. My Dad was "Vern" and I was "Leroy" from then on.
Also during my junior high years I was involved in competitive gymnastics. I always knew that my Dad was cheering me on because over the noise of the crowd I could hear his booming voice yelling, "Go Leroy!" It was great. I love you Dad! And that's the story behind the name.

I swore I didn't have time either but as it turns out this really is the best way to keep in touch. I am so glad to have everyone's blog at a glance to be able to see what everyone is up to. The fam. looks great say hi to everyone for us.
Yay Janet! See, I already know more about you reading your blog for two minutes than I have knowing you for ten years! Blogs (when time permits, and in moderation, of course) rock!
love ya

Hooray! I think that you are doing a GREAT job. I don't know WHAT mistakes you are talking about but it seems like you have already been doing this for a while.
I love Kelly's poem. What a writer.
I love blogging and I agree with Karen. I feel like I can get to know people so well with a blog that I wouldn't be able to otherwise - unless we lived close by.
Yay! I'm so excited you created a blog. It's such a great way to keep in touch and see updated pictures. Kelly is already an amazing writer (coming from an English Lit. major). We love you and hope to see you sooner than later. -Nicole
It hasn't been that long since you guys left us and already your kids look so much older! I loved K1's poem (coming from another English major!) too. Can't wait to see you guys later this month!
Love it! I was wondering about that name and thought maybe you changed it since leaving CA! Cute story and memory you will never forget. :)
Hi Janet! So glad to see your blogging! That is a great story behind the nickname. Your kids are getting sooo big, especially Kate! It's going to be great to keep in touch like this, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!!
