Letters to Santa and Other Great News

Yesterday morning K2 was up at what seemed like the crack of dawn. I of course tried to stay in bed for as long as possible, but was finally pulled out at around 8:30 am by K3 to make some breakfast. That was when I saw K2 and was totally surprised at how dressed up he was. He said, "I was trying to find my special hat so that I could be a detective." I wonder how he will feel when he realizes that it's just Sunday clothes and not really a costume. Also, I hope he is still just as happy to wear a suit when he serves a mission. What a handsome boy! Later that day he wrote a letter to Santa. This is what it said:
Dear Santa,
This year I hope my sisters get what they want.
This year I don't care what I get for Christmas.
I hope all of my family has a Holly Jolly
Christmas.
From, Kevin
Oh! If only they were all this sweet!

Super J enjoyed a little therapy time Saturday afternoon on his green vehicle. He had a great time and can't wait to outfit the whole family and go for rides together. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that, but the outfit does look kind of cool.

Earlier this week Super J and I enjoyed a quick trip to the Big D for the annual company Christmas party. We had such a great time seeing old friends and places, including our old house. We had to do a double take seeing a car almost exactly like our old one in the driveway. It seemed a little deja vu-ish.
The party was held at the fabulous Magnolia Hotel downtown. Thanks to the company for getting us a suite there. Do you just love the black-out curtains of hotels?! I selpt in until 10 am! It was wonderful. I am totally putting something up like that in our next house.

For me, the best part of the trip really was just catching up with old friends. I wished that I had more time to visit with everyone. Thanks to Sue Bee for watching K4 for us while we were at the party. She was wonderfully patient and kind. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Also thank you to D & A for staying with the other K's while we were gone. We couldn't have taken the trip without your help. Love you lots!

I am glad that I am not the only one in this family who likes to sleep in. Owen is a early riser. I spent two hours this morning half asleep and having to get up so often telling Owen not to get out of his room until the sun was up. He is like his dad in that way.Luckily Reid slept through all the ruckus of Owen romping around in his room next door.

You looked so pretty at the party. That is so nice that you got to go do that.

Kevin is such a sweet boy. What lucky sisters he has.

We're not going to Logan either. We were just in Utah for my bros. farewell 2 sat. ago and can't afford it-not to mention I really don't want to do the drive again since we have to go for Alicia's wedding next month too. But I do hope we can see you sometime in the near future.
