If you haven't noticed, I haven't posted any new pictures for a while. That is because I didn't have a personal computer for about a month and it took a while for our internet/phone/tv to get hooked up, (that's what you get when you move around the holidays). Anyway, here are a few of the things that happened in our life during the month of December 2009.
I got the idea for this kitchen playmat from balancing everything. I thought it was a perfect gift idea for Kate, a play kitchen that moves easily and doesn't take up a lot of space! I changed a few things however. I made this one a little bigger than the original directions and I used fabric remnants instead of wool felt. It was a little more work but a lot cheaper! She loves playing with it at the kitchen table while I'm making dinner.
These are pictures from the beginning of a lot of snow in December. This time around it was only a few inches, but because of the ice underneath it earned everyone a snow day. The kids were thrilled!
Sadly, there really wasn't enough of an incline to truly sled. The kids didn't mind pulling/pushing each other around though.
Surprisingly, Kenzie was the only one who didn't whine/cry at all the whole time! She didn't even complain as I bundled her all up. She just kind of laid back and took it all in. She thought the whole thing was fabulous!
Yes, Kelly is laying face down on the snow--whatever?! It didn't matter that I melted the snow to show her how dirty it was, she still wanted to eat it-yuk!
Kate's flimsy gloves she had on quickly got wet and cold, (it was only about 20 degrees outside), So her mean old mom found these mittens for her to keep her hands warm and dry. Of course she hated them and had to throw a huge fit--that I of course had to record in pictures, (insert evil giggle here).
"I don't want my picture taken mom!!!"
This is at the back door Christmas morning. Yes, we got about 11 inches of snow Christmas Eve. It was the third white Christmas on record ever for Kansas City. I have an idea--lets move the next day! That sounds great! ;)
Snow from the front door. I couldn't open the storm door without snow from falling inside and the storm door was fogging up pretty quickly!
Christmas morning before all the gift opening mayhem. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for making Christmas a magical experience for our family amidst a crazy, stressful move in the middle of a big snow storm. You are amazing! We miss you and love you lots!

Wow...that is a lot of snow! Your roll-up kitchen mat turned out so nice. What a great idea.
Kate reminds me of Peanut not wanting his picture taken. I always take one of his grumpy face anyway.
