Guess What?! I've actually read 2 books already this year!
"The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd and "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.
Yes, I know they're short, but the point is that I'm finally making time to read a little here and there. I actually liked both books. They were very thought provoking and at times a little sad. But I enjoyed reading them.
Actually I just remembered that I've also read the "Eat This, Not That Supermarket Survival Guide"--Loved It!! If you are looking for a ways to eat healthy, but aren't sure where to start, I highly recommend you take a look at this book, (especially the food additive glossary in the back). All I can say is read, read, read your labels!
I also skimmed through a book called, "Your Home, A living Canvas," about a man who restored his historical Kentucky victorian house. He is a mural painter, etc. and did all of this cool, decorative painting throughout his house as well as some really cool finishes for the walls, etc. In his book he tells all about it and gives directions on how to do it yourself. It was interesting. I look forward to being able to try some of it out someday.
Oh, just one more thing. If you're not already doing it--back up your computer! We backed things up in December, but I hadn't done it recently, (think January pictures, new music, etc). and our computer had a near fatal crash. (Insert a few sobs over lost pictures). Anyway, that's it.
So, what is a book you've read recently? Do you have a favorite? I would love to know.

I read The Hunger Games, and the sequel Catching Fire...warning you WILL NOT do anything else if you start to read these books...They are that good :) I have wanted to read 'The Giver' was it good? p.s. currently reading a Diane Mott Davidson book called Double Shot, entertaining...I have a stack of about 10 books on my nightstand to read!
It sounds like you have been busy! I have been reading parts of books dissatisfied and not intrigued. I did love reading The Actor and The Housewife by Shannon Hale but other than that just bits and pieces of books this year. If I start a book and know I won't like it I won't finish it. So I start a lot of books but don't finish them. I also have to put a lot of books back sooner than later because I find the "f" word a few pages in. So...I try to stick to young adult novels for the clean factor but...I have a hard time finding one I really enjoy. That paint finishing books sounds intriguing. I can't wait to do all sorts of fun stuff when we get our own house as well.
I am sorry to hear that your computer crashed. That made my heart leap. I have a lot of precious pictures just in the last 1 1/2 months that are not backed up. I will do that tonight! Thanks for the reminder.
The Art of Possibility by Benjamin and Rosamund Zander. Loved it!
Yay! I'm so excited for you. I started reading "The Gift"-Richard Paul Evans' new one, but have only made it halfway thru so far. It's really good. I love his books.
The Giver is one of my favorites! And I agree with Jessica - you will not be able to put Hunger Games (or its sequel) down! I also read These is My Words, about a young girl living in the Arizona Territories in the 19th century (and I'm now reading its sequel) - love those books! If you ever want to borrow something, come over and go through our "library!"
