Sleeping Beauty Takes a Tumble

We made our first urgent care visit for Kenzie today.  This first picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when she fell asleep on the couch.  Yes-she still sucks her thumb.  I'm not too worried about it yet.  With our family turning a corner and growing up we are so grateful to still have a little one to snuggle.

Well, she was playing in her room this morning and fell from standing on her play table and hit her mouth against her bunkbed.  OUCH!  She fell really hard and we thought for sure that she had bitten all the way through her lip.

Thankfully she did not bite through her lip.  Whew!  She just bit the inside of her lip a little and the force of the impact split her lip open on the outside.

You can just barely see the slit under her lip.  They just superglued it together so her scar should be minimal.  I just hope she doesn't take after Kate, who at this age had an injury glued together and within hours pulled the glue completely off! :)

A little while and a few popsicles later she was feeling much better.  I think they're going to make a reserved parking space for our family at urgent care, (which by the way opens at 10am--doesn't that seem a little like an oxy-moron?  Urgent Care only open at 10am?), we've been there so many times this year.  Knocking on wood that we won't have to go again soon. :)

Ouch! Poor Baby! :( By the way, you were hospitalized 3 times before you were three. At least you've avoided that nightmare.

Ouch...yeah urgent care hours never makes sense. Ours closes I think at 8 at night and has reduced hours on the weekends. Really...we usually need urgent care pretty much almost always outside the hours of when they are open. Go figure.

Hope the glue stayed.

I hope it stays glued!! Cardon fell while we were in San Diego. He was being crazy and climbed up and out of the pool and slipped on the steps and landed right on his chin on the edge of the pool! We had to take him to the ER at 10:00. Luckily for us, the ER was right across the street from the hotel we were at and NO ONE was there. We were in and out in an hour and back sleeping in our beds. Bonus - Cardon fell asleep in my arms before the gluing was done. So he didn't even realize anything happened til the next morning.
