A Quick Update

I'm sure a couple of you might be wondering what has happened to those Randalls? We've been trying to enjoy what's left of summer. School starts this Tuesday--(is anyone else humming, "It's the most wonderful time of the year,"?) I have just a few more hours to really figure out my Dad's amazing Olympus digital SLR he's letting me use until I can figure out some other kind of camera solution. It's a wonderful camera Dad, thank you very much. I just wish that I wasn't such a visual learner and could quickly grasp how to use it better. Thank goodness for the "auto" button.

Anyways....Kelly and Kevin have had their orientations and have met their teachers. It has kind of been a blur. Justin and I sort of traded places with all of this back-to-school prep as I have been working in the evenings. It's been kind of fun for the kids and Justin, but I don't like how it feels at all.

I start teaching my new aerobics class tomorrow and I'm already nervous about it. I mean, sick to my stomach, won't be able to relax until it's over nervous. It's always been this way for me though, when I get back into teaching. Hopefully it will only take a couple of weeks before I feel a little better about it. I'm really nervous for Kenzie. I tried taking her to the kids club last week while I took a class and she only lasted about 45 minutes. I really hope the gals in the kids club understand that I won't be able to come and get her while I'm teaching. Thankfully, school doesn't start until Tuesday, and my class is on Monday, so for the first week Kelly is going to go and help--whew!

Kelly's birthday is coming up this next week too! Why is it that you seem to go from having absolutely nothing to do, to everything happening at once?! As an early present I took her to the salon and she got a haircut, manicure and pedicure. It was really wonderful to share this with her and to see her feel so special and good about herself. I hope that this will give her a little boost to start middle school at a new school with confidence in herself. (I don't know if Kelly has ever really needed a confidence boost--but it was still really great to do something special for her).

That's about all. I hope this hasn't been too boring. I promise that pictures will be coming soon. I think pictures definitely make posts more interesting and enjoyable. Till then...I hope that everyone has had or will have a terrifc first week of school!

I know you did awesome in your class today. I hope you got to meet a lot of nice people. I can't wait to see the pictures of Kelly's spa day. Katey really enjoyed it when we did it one year for her birthday. (It's one of the ones she remembers fondly!) Can't wait to read your next post.

actually, yes, I was wondering what some of my favorite Randalls were up to. Now I know you're up to a lot! I have immense respect for women who work and mother. It isn't easy. I worked when I had Jackson and Caroline and it was a tough balance. Know that everything will work out and we love you guys!

I'm sorry Justin sold his motorcycles--I know those meant a lot to him. Missin you guys...
