A Good Picture of My Life

This picture caught my eye last month.  It just seemed an appropriate representation of this phase of my life--small handprint(s) on the mirror.

I can't adequately express why, but when I look at this it makes me smile.  It's so easy to get caught up in everyday things that we forget to slow down and just enjoy.

Sometimes there is pressure from the world to be more than, "...just a mom;"  but when we really think about it the time we have with our children is so short!  I want to drink in every moment I have with my kids--even the messy ones.  Maybe especially the messy ones that involve handprints on the mirror.  Those hands grow so quickly, mirrors get cleaned--eventually.  Will we remember how wonderful it all was?

I hope so.

That was wonderful Janet. I just read a talk that quoted President Faust. He said that the influence a mother has on her own children is incalculable. Being a mother is a really, really challenging job but I know it is divine and so we can receive divine help when we ask for it. I wouldn't give it up for anything else. :) You are a wonderful mother and I learn/ am inspired by you often.
